Hi there! I’m Jennifer Smith—though most people call me Jen. After dedicating years to my career in education, I’ve recently transitioned into a new phase of life as an empty nester. With my children grown and pursuing their own paths, I’ve decided to take a year off to explore the world both physically and metaphorically.

Who Am I?

I’m a combat veteran turned educator with a passion for lifelong learning and personal growth. My journey in education has been incredibly fulfilling, but now, I’m embracing this opportunity to rediscover myself beyond the classroom.

Why Start a Blog?

This blog serves as a canvas for me to document this transformative year. It’s a space where I can share my experiences, reflections, and the lessons I encounter along the way. I hope that by opening up about my journey, I can connect with others who are navigating similar transitions or seeking inspiration for their own paths.

What to Expect

I’m quit new to this~ I’ve never built a website, never had a blog, haven’t even really read many blogs. That being said, please know I will screw up, and stumble as I learn how to do this and find my voice.
